My sci-fi composite blends the iconic imagery of Star Wars with the grounded familiarity of a family photo set in the redwood forest. I wanted the piece to feel like a playful yet epic snapshot, as if these characters paused their galactic mission to pose for a portrait among Earth’s natural wonders. The towering redwoods echo the scale of the AT-AT walker, moons hover between branches, and familiar figures like Chewbacca and R2-D2 stand side by side as if they’re part of a family gathering. The inspiration came from the idea of merging nostalgia and fantasy, combining the warm, staged feeling of a family photo with the imaginative reach of science fiction. Narratively, the work suggests that even in the vastness of space, bonds of belonging and home remain constant. This image bridges two worlds: the ancient, grounded beauty of Earth’s forests and the endless frontier of interstellar adventure.
